Year-End Album Awards

This page gathers a variety of annual awards for albums. Being consolidated to one page allows for comparison between awards to see what albums have won multiple awards and what albums will surprise you in that they’ve won any awards at all. Note: in many cases, an award is given in the early months of a new year for albums from the past year. For example, the Dixie Chicks Taking the Long Way won the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2007, but for its 2006 eligibility. To confuse matters more, years of eligibility do not necessarily follow the calendar year. For example, depending on the award, an album released in November 2005 may be eligible for a 2006 award, which then, to confuse matters even more, may be actually awarded in 2007. Hey, I didn’t make up the system.
