My 6th Birthday
Happy birthday to me! In past years, I’ve often had two birthday celebrations – a party with friends on the Saturday nearest my birthday and a family party on the actual day. This year, my birthday fell on a Saturday, so we did everything in one day.

It doesn’t take a genius to decipher from the picture above that I had an outdoor party with water play. We had water balloons, water guns, and a Slip ‘N’ Slide, which was a big hit.

Actually, we weren’t sure if we were going to get to do water play or not. It had been a rainy day and we had to quickly rethink our plans for indoor activities. When my friends first started arriving, we had to play inside. Luckily, the weather cooperated enough to let us have our outdoor party!

Beyond water play, I wanted a “mixed up” theme for my birthday, so I had a Batman cake alongside plates, napkins, cups, and party favors for everything from Sponge Bob to Star Wars.

After my friends and I wolfed down cake, I got to open presents. Thanks, everybody, for the great gifts – and for coming to my party!

Once my guests had gone home, I still had time with Uncle Mark and Mama and Papa.

There were still more great gifts, including a snorkel from Mom and Dad, a light saber from Uncle Mark, a catcher’s mask from Grandmommy Shirley, and a bike helmet and pads from Mama and Papa. I don’t have a picture of the new helmet, but check out Levi below wearing the old helmet while Dad read a book.

Well, that’s it for the birthday photos. Thanks to everyone for making my birthday special!
