Matt and Amy Crouch’s wedding, June 2008 From a 5 Year Old’s Perspective |
Hi! I’m Evan and I’ll be your guide for Matt and Amy’s wedding. Who am I? Well, Matt’s my second cousin – my dad and Matt’s mom are first cousins. I’d been to a couple weddings before this, but this is the first I really remember, so I thought I’d offer up a glimpse of what a wedding is like – from a five year old’s perspective. |
Well, first off, if you’re going to have an outdoor wedding, I don’t recommend the hottest day on record in North Carolina in 20 years…
At the left, Dad and Levi and I are trying to cool off. Then Mom joined us in the photo at the right. |
So, the first thing that apparently happens at a wedding is a bunch of people get in a line in front of everybody else. There’s some talking and music… |
…and a bunch of photos… |
Then comes the most important part…dancing! |
Then they throw this thing called a garter and I got to try to catch it. I’m not sure what I would have done with it if I got it.
They also threw some flowers to the girls. I’m not sure why they did that either. |
Almost as important as the dancing is the cake. It even had Princess Leia and Han Solo from Star Wars on it! |
Then Matt and Amy smashed the cake in each other’s faces! For some reason, Mom and Dad don’t think it’s quite so fun when my face looks like that after I finish eating cake. |
So my overall assessment of the first wedding I really remember? I think the photo at right says it all. |
