2006

Let’s get something straight. It’s December and I’m 4. Obviously this page is all about Christmas. So let’s get the few non-Christmas pictures out of the way and move on to the commercialism that is December.
So…we’ve got pictures of me shoveling and sledding. Well, sure, we often associate snow with December and Christmas, so maybe this could be considered Christmas related …

Well, how about a picture of me painting at Parents As Teachers’ Holiday Make & Take? Okay, okay, the theme was Christmas presents that kids can make themselves…fine, every picture on this page is Christmas related.

Dad, Levi, and I went to Crown Center to see a gingerbread house exhibit set up for Christmas. I got inspired and came home and made my own!

Speaking of Crown Center, Mom took me to explore their outdoor play area and got these great pictures of me sitting on top of a play fire truck and in front of the Mayor’s Christmas tree.

Let’s face it, though, when a kid my age thinks Christmas, his first thought is Santa Claus. Mix in some of my love of dressing up and pretending and we’ve got me decked out as Santa and then, when I visited The Real Thing, I dressed up as Rudolph.

In Christmases past, our family has usually gone to visit Mom’s family. This year we stayed home…just us. It made for a quiet Christmas (be that good or bad), but we did still have a Christmas get together with Dad’s side of the family.

Now, I know it may not be good to declare any present your favorite when so many people spend time and money on you, but it would be hard to beat the knight dress-up set from Uncle Mark and Aunt Liz. It had a helmet, breast plate, sword…it was just what I wanted!

Poor Mom, however, did not get a knight dress-up set for Christmas and was hopelessly disadvantaged in our jousting match shown at right.

On Christmas morning, we had lots of fun opening presents. I got this accordion and sweater from Grandmommy Shirley and then, at the top of my wish list to Santa, was this sewing kit. It was a great Christmas.

So that wraps up Christmas and December. See you in 2007!
