Here we go – headlong into summer! Come along and join us – I guarantee we’ll have a good time!

Well, okay, not every moment can be fun. I took my first trip to the emergency room this month. I was running to the bathroom to brush my teeth (bet you don’t know too many people that excited to brush their teeth, huh?) and tripped and…whammo! My forehead smacked into the wall, well, the edge where two walls come together. There were plenty of tears, some blood, and a few quick phone calls. Dad loaded Levi and I up in the van and headed to the hospital. Luckily the bleeding stopped quickly and it was really just a matter of getting the wound stitched right to prevent too much future scarring.

Mom quickly left work and met us there. She stayed with me through the whole ordeal (a couple hours) while Dad took Levi home. Luckily, I had Bunny and binky to comfort me. I know, I know – almost four years old and I still have a binky. I just sleep with it, though – it’s a comfort thing – and now I use it when I’m getting stitches.

Oops – there’s the binky again. This is a picture of my cousin (not a first cousin, but it’s too confusing to explain, so I’ll just call him my cousin) reading to me before I go to bed. He and his brother and dad came through town with their RV on a big trip. I even got to spend the night in the RV one night. Actually, I fell asleep and Dad came and got me about 10:00 at night and carried me to my own bed, but it was still fun!

Probably my big highlight for the summer was going to my preschool’s summer program. Each week had a theme – like Olympics or the five senses or cooking. The picture at the left is from my cooking class at school. At the right, I’m posing with the fruit pizza that Dad and I made after I was inspired by the class.

I have to say, though, no matter how fun cooking is, nothing beats running out to the neighborhood ice cream truck to get a popsicle and then let it drip all over you. Hello, summer!
