Christmas 2003

Mom and Dad and I went to Arizona for Christmas. We stayed with Uncle Chris, Mom’s brother. Most of Mom’s family was there, including Grandma Shirley, Aunt Jennifer, and my cousins Mike and Liz. Okay, okay, so I’m the only one in the photo not smiling. I did have a good time, though.

I got quite the kick out of all the boxes when it came time to open presents. If you check out photos of me from a year ago (click on ‘Christmas 2002’ box below), you’ll see how much I’ve changed – such simple things, like tissue paper and large bows, entertained me then. Ah, those were the days.

Of course, I did manage some enjoyment of actual gifts. Santa brought me a set of instruments, including this drum. I led Mom, Dad, Grandma Shirley, Uncle Chris, and Aunt Jennifer in a little marching band that went to go wake up my sleepy head cousins Mike and Liz.

We also got out and saw the sites. Since Chris lives in Flagstaff, we were near the Grand Canyon and, while we didn’t go there, we got to enjoy the unique terrain. Still, it does seem odd that we were so bundled up in the middle of the desert!

Most of all, though, it was just fun to spend time with family. At left, I’m beating Aunt Jen at Mancala. At the right, I’m playing with shells with cousin Mike.
