February 6: Valentine’s Day is the biggest day for most people this month. However, in our family, this month’s event was Mom’s 40th birthday. I helped Dad plan a surprise party for her. We even flew in her brother Chris, her friend Jodie, and her friend Patrick (pictured at left).
I had lots of fun seeing all the people and playing. At left, I’m looking at a book with Dylan and Austin, sons of Mom’s friend Susie. At right, I’m waving glow sticks in a celebratory mood. |

February 8: Mom’s friend Patrick had to go home Saturday (February 7), but Jodie and Chris were still around for sledding on Sunday. We were hit by enough snow during the week that Dad worried that some of the out-of-town guests might not make it. Jodie ended up stranded in Cleveland the night of the party, but she made it in for the weekend still. She got me this great snow suit. |

The last couple of times I went sledding, I just went on the little hill in my backyard. This time, though, we hit the big hill by the nearby elementary school. |  |
| February 9: Uncle Chris had to head home soon after sledding, but ‘Aunt’ Jodie was still around through Monday to do important things like read books to me and help me take a bath. When I took my bath, I showed Jodie how I blow bubbles when I go swimming. She blew bubbles for me also, and in the picture on the bottom right I’m signing for ‘more.’
I use at least 20 signs now, including Mom, Dad, water, cheese, grapes, bananas, apple, please, thank you, bunny, giraffe, airplane, rain, and baby. I now clearly say the words ‘Mom,’ ‘Dad,’ and ‘baby’ and am starting to make the beginning sounds of lots of words. |

| February 20: I had my 18-month checkup today. Everything was good. I now weight 26 pounds 9 ounces (60%) and am 33 inches tall (75%). |
