2005

Well, the month has definitely been about Levi, my new baby brother (born May 31, 2005). I haven’t minded at all, though. Mom and Dad have helped me feel very involved and still give me lots of attention. Here’s some of the ways that I’ve been able to help out…

First off, I’ve done plenty of practicing with my doll Baby Hap. I learned how to give him a bath…

…and then swaddling him in a blanket afterwards.

I also practiced entertaining Baby Hap while he was in the carrier…

…and I got to hold Levi on the couch a lot. I often say, “me want to hold him.”

Mom and Dad even let me help on the big tasks, like feeding Levi…

…and getting him to go to sleep. Okay, they don’t really make me do the latter, but I do love having Levi lay in my bed in the mornings when I first wake up.

Of course, it wasn’t all about Levi this month. My big news is that I’m now potty trained! I had a few accidents, but basically had it down within a week. Mom and Dad were very encouraging and always said they were proud of me. They were thoughtful enough to not even take any photos of me using the potty.

On another note entirely, I am imitating yet another thing from Winnie the Pooh. Just like Pooh, when I am thinking, I like to tap my head and say “think, think, think.” When Mom or Dad is playing with me and we’re trying to think of an idea, I also like to say, “you have idea?”

I’ve loved having Mom and Dad read books to me since I was born, but I’ve started to look at books on my own a lot more and will “read” them as I go.

I’ve also loved trains for quite awhile – you can see me with my new big brother present (a Thomas the Train set) and making a train with chairs on the May 2005 page. Here, Mom took me to the mall where I could ride on a train. I even got to drive!

Having Levi around also meant that Mom was home and that Grandmommy Shirley came to visit. I definitely liked the family time and, as you can tell by the picture, I’m pretty crazy about Grandmommy Shirley as well.

Well, that’s all for this month. See you in July!
